We’ll begin with an engaging talk that separates bat fact from fiction and reveals the remarkable role these misunderstood night flyers play in our environment. Learn why bats have earned an undeserved bad rap, discover the benefits they provide to people and ecosystems, and get a closer look at the fascinating ways they navigate and communicate after dark.

As the sun sets, we’ll head out by golf cart and then by foot in search of bats in the wild. Along the way, we’ll use an acoustic bat meter to listen for and identify their echolocation calls, giving you a chance to experience a part of the nighttime world we normally cannot hear.

This special evening combines learning, exploration, and a little adventure while offering a completely different perspective on one of Florida’s most remarkable nocturnal animals.
